News : Defendants Facing 41 Charges Involving A Child Appear In Court

Defendants facing 41 counts of sex related charges appeared in court, receiving a change of judge.

In Division One of Grundy County Circuit Court, charges accusing 51 year old Brent Reynolds of rural Trenton with statutory sodomy, incest, use of a child in a sexual performance, endangering the welfare of a child, and sexual exploitation of a minor have been transferred to Linn County on a change of venue.

Those charges, combined, allege 41 counts.

Judge Terry Tschannen of Linn County is to preside over the case on a change of judge.

Reynolds also is accused in a separate charge of possessing methamphetamines and unlawful possession of 3 rifles after being convicted of a felony in Missouri. Those charges also have been transferred to Linn County on a change of venue. Judge Tschannen is to preside over that case.

An amended charge has been filed in Division 1 of Grundy County Circuit Court against 36 year old Robert Johnstone III of Trenton. The amended charge accuses Johnstone with 1st degree child molestation. He's accused of subjecting a child less than 14 years old to sexual contact in June of last year.

The charge was amended from 1st degree statutory sodomy. Johnstone is scheduled to have a jury trial May 30th on the amended charge in Division 1 of Grundy County Circuit Court.
