The Princeton City Council passed an ordinance adopting higher water and sewer rates.

The new rates were approved and announced last month---- but an ordinance had to be prepared and adopted to make them official. The new rates start showing up on bills received next month.

The Princeton Council has approved the only bid received to purchase the old City Hall building at 604 Main. Fonda Shipley of Princeton bid slightly over $12,000 for the building---which currently is being rented by David George for his real estate business.

The Princeton Council agreed to make repairs to the side of the existing City Hall adjacent to a parking lot. The wall has some dings. Tin siding is to be replaced, the wall sealed, and posts and cable put up to avoid vehicles from hitting the wall.

The Princeton Council approved a request from Marty Henke of the Mercer County Fair Board to replace deteriorated poles at the fair barn. The City is to supply the materials. The Fair Board is to provide the labor.

The Council approved a service contract request from Mike Homedale for $750. It's for the Krazy Kats band to perform at the Calamity Jane car show in September.

The Princeton Council approved a request from the Mercer County Health Department to use City property on Stuart Street for a community garden.

Clint Vanderpool of Princeton will be allowed to rent the fair barn for an auction May 10th. Vanderpool will be charged $50 plus water usage determined by a meter.

A building permit was approved for Junior Luper to locate a shop on Elm Street.

The Princeton Council denied a building permit request from Princeton Housing Authority for a carport to be put up at the Hal England Center downtown. The denial was attributed to the location being too close to a road.

A liquor license was approved for Snappy's Store.

The Princeton City Council has scheduled a special meeting the night of April 21st at 6 o'clock at City Hall. The council will be considering a budget for the fiscal year beginning May 1st.
