Sports : Trenton's Tolson Earns Medalist Honors, Shooting 39

Trenton High School senior Chase Tolson shot a 39 on Monday afternoon, good for medalist honors as the Bulldog boy's golf team easily beat visiting Putnam County at Riverside Country Club.

Trenton's team total was 164, with the visiting Midgets shooting 229. Trenton's Cree Mullenix and Putnam County's Cody Quint both shot 40's over the nine hole event. Other TRENTON scores were 42 for Lane Beverlin, 43 for Nate Swann, and 48 for Corbyn Guile. Nick Gass shot a 46 for the Trenton JV.

Trenton Head Coach Travis Mullenix said his team played "OK". He added, "It was the first match at home and still early in the season. Cree (Mullenix) is starting to get his game together and Chase finished well to earn medalist honors". The Bulldogs will host Brookfield and Braymer in 4 o'clock triangular action today (Tuesday) at Riverside Country Club in Trenton.
