Sports : Missouri Mavericks Open Postseason On Friday Night

The Missouri Mavericks, fresh off of winning the franchise's first Governor's Cup championship, will open postseason play on Friday night, hosting the Arizona Sundogs in Game One of an opening round best-of-seven series.

The Mavericks, with 90 points in the regular season, have the #1 seed for the Central Hockey League's playoffs, and swept the four-game regular season series with the Sundogs, who are the #8 seed for the postseason tournament.

Game one at the Independence Events Center will be played Friday night at 7:05, with game two on Sunday night at 6:10 at the IEC. The series will shift to Arizona for games 3 and 4, and if necessary, game 5. Game three will be played on Wednesday, April 9th at 8:35 (Central Time), with game four on Friday, April 11th at 9:05. A game five would be played on Saturday, April 12th at 9:05.

If necessary, Games 6 and 7 would come back to Independence, with Game 6 on Tuesday, April 15th at 7:05, and Game 7 the following night, also at 7:05.

Mavericks playoff tickets for the first two games of the series are available in person at the IEC's box office, and online at Ticketmaster.com.
