The Trenton R-9 School District is asking application forms for Summer School to be returned to any school office by April 4th.

Summer School is to be offered May 28th to June 27th for students entering Kindergarten through 9th grade. Application forms have been sent home with eligible students. School officials ask for students to return the form whether they plan to attend or not. For those not attending, the person's name and the word “no” should be written on the application form.

The Trenton R-9 District says it's hoping to provide breakfast, lunch, and transportation free of charge, and is awaiting approval for those programs.

Curriculum will be developed in-house with an emphasis on specific reading skills students need to build.

Since the District is not working with Newton Learning, a $100 perfect attendance incentive will not be offered. However, smaller incentives will be available during the program.

Questions can be directed to Summer School Administrator, E'Lisha Gass at Trenton Middle School.
