The location was 6468 Highway Y owned by Michael Trager. The Chillicothe Fire Department reported the homeowner said he had dumped ashes from the fireplace
yesterday morning, and sat the bucket of embers and ashes in the front yard. The Fire Department said the wind picked up, blowing embers into the yard, starting a grass fire, which traveled to the front porch of the house.

Chillicothe firefighters said they arrived on the scene to find the entire front of the home engulfed in flames. Mutual aid tanker responses were requested from Chula, Lock Springs, and Jamesport Departments. All responded to the scene. Firefighters were there more than an hour and one half.

Damage was listed as $125,000 to the property and $50,000 to the contents.

No injuries were reported.
