News : Chillicothe Farmers Market To Hold Annual Meeting March 18

Chillicothe Farmers Market will hold its Annual Meeting March 18th at 7:00 pm in the FCS Financial Building’s Meeting Room, Hwy. 65 North in Chillicothe.

Agenda items for the meeting include planning and budgeting for advertising and events, setting dues and election ofofficers and board.

Local producers interested in selling processed food at the Market is invited to attend the Processed Foods Certification and Annual Renewal session at 6 o'clock. Items such as bakedgoods, jams and jellies made in a home kitchen may be sold at the Market once this certification requirement is fulfilled.  Anyone interested in selling frozen meats and eggs is alsoinvited to attend and learn more about requirements for sale of this product at Market.

Local growers and producers interested in selling at the Chillicothe Farmers Market are invited to a Question and Answer Session to begin at 6.  The session will be an opportunity to hear from experienced marketers about packaging and pricing to health department requirements.  Resource and information handouts will be available. 

Chillicothe Farmers Market has open memberships for new growers and producers to help meet the increased demand for locally grown products.

All bonafide growers and producers of quality goods from Livingston and the adjoining counties are welcome to attend the meeting and to sell at the Market.  Products that can be soldat the Market include all locally grown, whole, fresh vegetables and fruits in season orextended season, herbs & spices, plants, flowers, specialty or value added products (honey, jams etc), fresh whole eggs, frozen meats, baked items and arts and crafts that are grown, processed or produced by the member.
