In addition to church members who donated items for a bake sale, the community helped by attending a baked potato bar. The net proceeds were donated to the Green Hills Women's Shelter, along with food and paper items given by First Christian Church and community members.

Teresa Cross, the Follower class facilitator, thanked those who supported the event. She said the Followers class adopts a local organization quarterly as a mission---and uses time, talent, and treasure to help others in need.

The Followers class meets Sunday mornings at 9:30 in the activity center at First Christian Church at 1700 Princeton Road at Trenton. The class is open to the general public. The group currently is studying the Experiencing God series.
