A number of cases were recently heard in the Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court.
19 year old Nicholas Pipes of Laredo waived preliminary hearings and was bound over to Division 1of Circuit Court on charges accusing him with 1st degree burglary and 7 counts of 2nd degree burglary.
Pipes is accused in the 1st degree burglary charge of unlawfully entering a structure at
108 North Main at Galt between December 7th and January 14th for the purpose of stealing. The charge accused Pipes of being armed with a deadly weapon. The property was owned by Karen Willis.
Pipes is accused in the 2nd degree burglary charge of entering and unlawfully remaining in 7 structures in the Galt area for the purpose of stealing. Authorities say the alleged incidents were between December 1st and January 12th at 108 North Main owned by Karen Willis, 201 Whan owned by Deborah Havens, Northeast 102nd Avenue owned by Harold Kelly, 411 Elm Street owned by Ricky Tunnell, 889 Northeast 76th Street owned by Lonnie Saul, 210 East Sherman Street owned by Curry Coffelts, and 371 Northeast 105th owned by Beverly Shields.
19 year old Dakota Dalton of Humphreys waived a preliminary hearing in Associate Division and was bound over to Division 1 of Grundy County Circuit Court on a charge accusing 2nd degree burglary in January. Dalton is accused of entering and unlawfully remaining in a house owned by Karen Willis at 108 North Main at Galt for the purpose of stealing.
21 year old Tyler Wilson of Trenton waived a preliminary hearing and was bound over to Division 1of Circuit Court on a 1st degree burglary charge on February 14th. Wilson is accused of unlawfully entered a building at 84 Northwest 60th Street near Trenton for the purpose of stealing. The charge accused Wilson of being armed with a deadly weapon while he allegedly was in the building. The owner of the property was listed as
40 year old Patricia Eckert of Galt waived a preliminary hearing and was bound over to Division 1 on a charge accusing her with identity theft between June of last year and this month. Ms. Eckert was accused of using a checking account number of Dr. Dale Alumbaugh---as a means of identification--- resulting in the theft of more than $5,000. The charge said Ms. Eckert is a prior offender with 3 convictions of passing bad checks in Grundy County in 2001 and 2012.
38 year old Stephanie Miller of Galt waived a preliminary hearing and was bound over to Division 1 of Circuit Court on a charges accusing her with attempting to manufacture a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernaliaâ€”both on January 25th.
Ms. Miller is accused of possessing items for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to introduce methamphetamine into the body. The charge described Ms. Miller as a prior offender by pleading guilty to hindering prosecution in Grundy County in December.
Those charges against Ms. Miller are scheduled to be heard in Division 1 of Grundy County Circuit Court. Ms. Miller pleaded guilty to a charge accusing her with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle on January 25th. She was sentenced to 20 days in the Grundy County Jail. was dismissed by the prosecution.
27 year old Corey Hines of Trenton waived a preliminary hearing and was bound over to Division 1 of Circuit Court on a charge accusing him with operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license February 5th. The charge said Hines has been convicted of driving without a valid license 4 times since 2008----once in Livingston County, twice in Grundy County, and once in Mercer County.
36 year old Shaun McAlister of Trenton pleaded guilty to a reduced charge accusing him with misdemeanor passing bad checks. A fine and court costs totaling $316 and restitution of nearly $1400 were to be taken from a bond. The charge was reduced from felony to misdemeanor passing bad checks.
A charge accusing 33 year old Rosalino Sanchez of Trenton with forgery by possessing a social security card that was not genuine on February 11th was dismissed by the prosecution.
A charge accusing 40 year old Daniel Wescott of rural Trenton with giving a highway patrolman false information last October was dismissed by the prosecution.
