In games broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com, the Lady 'Cats of Milan High School fell to Marceline for the third time this season, losing 43-27. The Lady 'Cats offensive struggles continued while, on the defensive end, MHS could not find an answer to slow down Morgan McCormick, who scored 26 points to lead the Lady Tigers to the win. The victory for Marceline sends the Lady Tigers into Thursday night's semifinals, and a matchup with Northeast (Cairo) at 4:30. The Lady Bearcats advanced with a Monday night win against Putnam County.

The final game of the Tuesday night session saw a short-handed Milan boys team fight hard, but fall short, against Tri-Rivers rival Scotland County, with the Tigers earning the 60-48 victory. The #2 seeds from Memphis were paced by 13 points from Lucas Howard, 12 from Bailey Johnston, and 10 points for Cordie Kigar. Milan had 24 points from Raul Palacios and 19 points from Holden Stallbaumer. Scotland County, on Thursday night at 8:15, will play the #3 seeded Knox County Eagles.

Other final scores from Tuesday's quarterfinals were: Scotland County girls 50, Schuyler County 49 and the Knox County boys 63, Marceline 52. That sets up a Knox County vs. Scotland County girls semifinal at 7 o'clock on Thursday night. The Putnam County boys and Northeast (Cairo) boys both won quarterfinals on Monday, advancing to play each other in a 5:45 Thursday night semifinal.

There are NO games scheduled tonight (Wednesday night) from Schuyler County High School. The district championship games will be played on Saturday afternoon, with the tip-times slated for 2 PM (girls) and 3:15 PM (boys).
