Freshman pitcher Scotlin Hurley opened her collegiate career with a booming weekend with the bat, as the Trenton native put up multiple hit games throughout the competition. In game one, NCMC was shutout 5-0 by North Central Texas College (ranked #17 in NJCAA Division One). Hurley took the pitching loss, but was 2 for 3 with a double at the plate. She gave up five hits and two earned runs, with three walks, and four strikeouts. The Lady Pirates defense was subpar, with three errors over the seven-inning contest.

In game two, North Central blitzed Ranger College in a 9-1 win shortened to five innings by the run rule. Hailey Lowery had a two-run double in a four-run fourth inning to break the game open for NCMC. Hurley was 3 for 3 with a double and two runs scored, while Randi Davis was three for four with two runs scored. Lauren White got the pitching win.

North Central fell to Northern Oklahoma College in their third game, by a final score of 4-2. Macie Kinsey took the pitching loss for the Lady Pirates, while Hurley was three for three with the bat with a run scored. Kinsey tossed seven innings and gave up only four hits, with three earned runs, four walks, and three strikeouts.

The Lady Pirates, against Western Texas College, evened their record at 2-2 with a 4-2 victory, as Hurley got the pitching win. The former THS Lady Bulldog was 3 for 4 with a double and a stolen base. North Central had a four-run third inning in the victory, with 3 walks and 2 hit-by-pitches leading to the rally.

NCMC lost its final game in north Texas, falling to Seminole State, 3-2. Lauren White took the pitching loss. Jennifer Stock was 1 for 3 with an RBI, Hurley was 2 for 3 with a run scored. The Lady Pirates, in a key play in the sixth inning, tried to tie the game at 3, but Shelby Salter, trying to score on a single by Lauren White, was thrown out at the plate.

The Lady Pirates have announced that, due to Wednesday's bitterly cold temperatures, the scheduled doubleheader at Missouri Valley College (Marshall, MO) has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 27th at 1 o'clock and 3 o'clock.
