A meteorologist from the National Weather Service is to talk about various aspects of severe weather, storm spotting, and weather safety.

There's no charge to attend the session the night of March 19th at 7 o'clock at the Milan Community Center. It's expected to last about 90 minutes.

Persons wishing to attend should contact Sullivan County Emergency Management Agency Director, Dennis Goldsmith, at Milan.

Sullivan County Emergency Management Agency officials say reserving a seat for the class will not commit the person to attending the session. They also say the class may not be held if fewer than 15 people sign up.

Emergency Management officials say becoming an active, trained storm spotter is an excellent way to serve the community. Although there is no personal commitment from attending the class, officials say persons recognizing hazardous weather on the horizon will be in a position to warn the public by calling 911.
