The Lady Bulldogs trailed the Lady Hornets by six points with six minutes remaining, but outscored Hamilton by 15 points down the stretch, surging to a 46-37 win and ending the regular season with a record of 18-7. Trenton took the lead on a three-point shot by McKinley Hurley within the final two minutes of regulation. Tom Johnson had the play-by-play call:

The two teams will rematch in a district quarterfinal contest on Monday night at 9 o'clock from Lathrop High School (on KTTN FM 92.3). Trenton is the #4 seed and Hamilton the #5 seed in Class 3, District 16. Here is Trenton head coach Brian Upton:

The Trenton boys struggled early against the visiting Hornets, and found themselves down by 11 points early in the third quarter. However, a 14-0 surge by the Bulldogs gave THS the lead, and Trenton held on over the fourth quarter for a 62-56 win.

Trenton already had scored four consecutive points midway through the third quarter, when senior forward Wilson Utley brought the Bulldogs right back onto the Hornet's heels:
