Accidents : Husband And Wife Injured In Accident Near Hamilton

Late Friday afternoon east of Hamilton a pickup truck went out of control on snow-covered Highway 36, hit an embankment, and came to rest on its top.

The driver, 56 year old Edward Keathley, and his 55 year old wife, Margaret, were taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center with what the highway patrol called serious injuries.

The accident occurred nearly 3 miles east of Hamilton on Highway 36. The patrol reported the pickup was westbound at high speed when the driver lost control on the snow covered road, the pickup went off the right side of the pavement, hit an embankment, and overturned, coming to rest on its top.

The pickup was demolished.

Edward Keathly was wearing a seatbelt, but Margaret Keathly was not.

Edward Keathly was accused of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, and operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident.
