Comments: This was a good tournament for us because our younger kids gained some much needed experience in the B pool and most of our A pool kids finished strong. Wynne Devorss had a great day despite a tough first round loss. He showed a lot of heart coming back and winning his next four matches. I truly feel like Wynne caught a glimpse of his true potential today. Colton Allen also had a strong performance in the B pool. Colton needed to wrestle these kinds of matches to figure out what works for him and what doesn't. I was very pleased with his performance. Thomas Mack wrestled flawless all day in the A pool winning all 5 matches by pins. Thomas has really figured out how to control the entire match from the neutral position, which is extremely important. If thomas continues to wrestle this way, he should have great success at the state level. Mason Mounce had another outstanding day.

He also won all 5 matches by pin. There was nobody at the tournament that could have given Mason any trouble because he is just so dominant in every position. Trey Shields also had a good day placing 3rd in a tough A pool. Trey picked up some important wins over district opponents, which should serve him well in district seeding. At 285, Terrin Ellis had an extremely good day, placing second and beating 3 opponents by pins. I was really proud of the way Terrin wrestled all day and how much he has improved in the last stretch of the season.

Overall, I thought we had a lot of great things happen. We still have some guys figuring out how to win tough matches though. This will be our focus all the way up to the district tournament.
