The Princeton Tigers, in games heard Monday night on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com, took victories in the first round of the Gilman City Basketball Tournament.
The #2 seeded Tiger boys downed Pattonsburg by a final score of 64-45. Brant Faulkner led Princeton with 22 points. Princeton raced out quickly against the Panthers, scoring the first 13 points of the game, and holding Pattonsburg scoreless in the first quarter. The score was 31-7 at the half, and PHS breezed to the win in the second stanza. Pattonsburg had 19 points from Matt Husky and 12 from Jeffrey Hartley.
The Lady Tigers, seeded #4, took out East Harrison by a final score of 55-49. Paige Phillips paced Princeton with 30 points, while Trinity Kile added 12. For East Harrison, Keely Waddle had 21 points, with Takaya McLain putting in 14.
The Princeton boys advance to the semifinals on Thursday night at 6 o'clock (against either Union Star or the Gallatin JV). The Princeton boys will play on Thursday night at 6, in the semifinals against top-seeded Pattonsburg.
Pattonsburg moved into the girl's semifinals with a 60-9 victory over the Lady Mustangs from Tri-County High School. The #1 seeded East Harrison boys downed Gilman City by a final score of 68-24.
Tuesday night from Gilman City High School will see: #3 Gilman City girls vs. Union Star at 4:30, #3 Union Star boys vs. Gallatin JV at 6:00, #2 North Harrison girls vs. Gallatin JV at 7:30, #4 North Harrison boys vs. Tri-County at 9:00.
