The Trenton Bulldogs were defeated 45-21 against Brookfield and 52-27 against Richmond in a pair of duels contested on Tuesday night at Brookfield High School.
Against Brookfield, Trenton's only "on-the-mat" winner was Dalton Ellis, at 152 pounds, by 7-2 decision over Jacob McLaughlin. Trenton picked up forfeit victory points from Thomas Mack, Mason Mounce, and Drew Rorebeck.
The Bulldogs struggled with mistakes against Brookfield, putting THS in positions that led to a number of pins. Pins included Brookfield's Cody Niemeier over Logan Lowery at 132, Zachary Bragg over Wynne DeVorss at 138, Richard Menconi over Colton Allen at 145, J.J. Abongo over Trey Shields at 182, Reed McBroom over Cole Little at 220, Trevor White over Layton Harkins at heavyweight, and Jose Ruelas over Brendon Johnson at 113.
Brookfield's Anthony Loftstrom claimed a 12-5 decision over Trenton's Conner Lovell at 106 pounds. There was a double forfeit, with no points awarded, at 120 pounds and 195 pounds.
Trenton's individual winners, in a 52-27 loss to Richmond, were Wynne DeVorss, by pin of Drew Fizzer at 138 pounds; Thomas Mack, by 4-0 decision over Brock Stokes at 160 pounds; Mason Mounce, by pin of Brock Stokes at 170 pounds; and Trey Shields, by pin over Alex Vance at 182 pounds. Trenton did pick up points from a forfeit victory by Conner Lovell at 106 pounds. Richmond took forfeit points from Dylan Caldwell at 120 pounds and David Parker at 195 pounds.
Richmond's mat wins came from Dominic Nobile, by pin of Drew Rorebeck at 126 pounds; Mason Hewitt, who pinned Logan Lowery at 132, Garrison Sanders, by pin of Colton Allen at 145; Austin Keefhaver, by 14-4 major decision over Dalton Ellis at 152; Kaleb Heber, by pin of Cole Little at 220; James Gardner by pin of Terrin Ellis at heavyweight; and Braidn Ford, with a pin of Brendon Johnson at 113.
Trenton will wrestle Saturday in the Brookfield Tournament, starting at 9:30 in the morning. Next week, THS will travel to Chillicothe on Tuesday (1/28) at 6 PM, and Stanberry (quadrangular with Rock Port and Penney) on Thursday (1/30) at 6 PM.
