On Friday night, North Central walloped the visiting Missouri Valley Vikings at the Ketcham Community Center by a final score of 114-82. Tyrell Thirkield and Xavier Newson both scored 19 points for NCMC, with Avion Ashford netting 15 points, Jory Woodson and Jamin Brandt each scoring 14 points, Andrew Berry nine points (with 12 rebounds), and Austin Taul with seven points.

North Central, with the win, improves to 8-8 on the season, heading into a neutral site game with North Arkansas on Monday afternoon in Kansas City. The Pirates will host the Graceland JV on Wednesday night at 7 o'clock.

The Lady Pirates, coming off Wednesday night's blowout loss at #2 ranked Johnson County, had the weekend off. North Central's women will host Cottey College on Tuesday night at 5:30 at the Ketcham Community Center, in Region XVI game #2 of the season (North Central is 1-0 after a January 8th win over Penn Valley).

Our next broadcasts for NCMC will come up on Saturday afternoon, with the Pirate teams in St. Louis to play the Archers in doubleheader action. Both the 1:00 women's game and the 3:00 men's game will be heard on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.
