Sports : Trenton HS Wrestlers Finish Fifth At Plattsburg Tournament

Plattsburg edged Brookfield by 10 1/2 points to win its own wrestling tournament on Saturday. Plattsburg accumulated 228 1/2 points, Brookfield had 218, and Savannah 202 1/2 points.

There was a bit of a gap to fourth place South Harrison, which had 174 1/2 points, and another small gap to fifth-place Trenton, which had 148 1/2 points. Sixth place Gallatin was one point behind Trenton. The Bulldogs were followed by Chillicothe, Polo, Albany, West Platte, and Maplewood-Richmond Heights. The Cameron JV finished 12th with 94 points, followed by Rock Port, Penney, Stanberry, Hallsville, and Hogan Prep, with several JV entries finishing off the team standings.

Trenton had one individual champion. Mason Mounce had four pins before edging Jake Hicks of Polo High School 9-6 in the 170 pound championship match.

Drew Rorebeck was second at 126 pounds. Thomas Mack was third at 160 pounds.
