Sports : Trenton Bulldogs Grab #1 Seed At Hamilton Tournament

The Trenton Bulldog boys basketball team has the top seed for the seven-team Hamilton Invitational Basketball Tournament, running from Monday, January 27th to Saturday, February 1st at Penney High School.

Both the girls and boys tournaments have seven teams, bringing a bracket format to the top half of the tournament, with "pool play" to be used to decide the bottom half. The Trenton boys will be in bracket play, with the Trenton Lady Bulldogs, seeded #3, in pool play competition along with #2 seed South Harrison and #6 seed Polo.

In games to be played on Monday, January 27th, the #4 seed Gallatin Lady Bulldogs play #5 seed Hamilton at 4:30, followed by a boys pool play contest between #2 seed Gallatin and #6 seed Hamilton at 6 o'clock. The Trenton teams will play in the evening session, with the #1 seed Trenton boys drawing Polo in a 9 o'clock quarterfinal, preceded at 7:30 by the Trenton girls challenging #6 seed Polo.

Games on Tuesday, January 28th will have the #3 seed Braymer boys battling Hamilton at 4:30 (pool play), the top-seeded Lathrop Lady Mules taking on Braymer at 6 o'clock (quarterfinal), the South Harrison boys (seeded #4) against Lathrop (quarterfinal) at 7:30, and the South Harrison girls taking on Polo (pool play) at 9 o'clock.

There will be two consolation semifinals played on Wednesday, January 29th at Penney High School. In pool play on Thursday, January 30th, the South Harrison and Trenton girls will duel at 4:30, with the Gallatin and Braymer boys playing at 9 o'clock. Two semifinals will be played at 6:00 (boys) and 7:30 (girls).

The consolation finals will be played at 6:00 (girls) at 7:30 (boys) on Friday, January 31st, with the third place games at 3:00 (girls) and 4:30 (boys) on Saturday, February 1st. The championship games will be that evening, with the girls at 6:00, and the boys at 7:30.
