The Trenton Bulldogs and Marceline Tigers both scored 39 points in a high school wrestling duel on Thursday night, but the final points total was not indicative of the advantage the Tigers had "on the mat".

Marceline was short-handed at the meet, with the Tigers roster ravaged by the flu. The Bulldogs and Tigers had seven matches wrestled, with Marceline winning six. Trenton's points came from a 12-5 decision at 126 pounds for Drew Rorebeck, and forfeit decisions for Wynne DeVorss, Dalton Ellis, Thomas Mack, Mason Mounce, Chris Brown, and Terrin Ellis.

Marceline wins by pink were from Dylan Wheeler, Andrew Edgar, Brady Stallo, D.J. Gerhart, and Jordan Elam. Marceline's Travis McGowan won 10-6. Marceline's Dalton Fisher won by forfeit.

Top Trenton records on the season are Mason Mounce at 15-1, Thomas Mack 11-3, and Trey Shields 13-6. The Bulldogs will be in the Plattsburg Wrestling Tournament on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. The Bulldogs, on Tuesday, travel to Brookfield for a triangular that will include the host Bulldogs and the Richmond Spartans.
