Sports : Chillicothe Lady Hornets Look For Seventh-Place Win

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets entered the Bulldog Classic Tournament this week at Kearney High School with high hopes of success, as CHS headed south with only one loss on the season.

Playing some of the toughest competition they will see all season, the week has been a rough one for the Lady Hornets, with Chillicothe scoring only 20 points on Monday night in a loss (51-20) to the host Kearney Lady Bulldogs. In the consolation semifinals on Wednesday night, Chillicothe was beaten by Notre Dame Di Sion 59-44. Hannah Jones and Whitney Clampitt both scored 14 points to pace CHS in the loss to NDDS. The Lady Hornets will look to salvage at least one win from Kearney, playing MEC rival St. Joseph Lafayette in the seventh place game on Friday afternoon at 3:30. Chillicothe girl's (and boy's) will travel to Trenton High School, for a varsity doubleheader with the host Bulldogs, on Tuesday night, January 21st, in games to be carried LIVE on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.

Girls Third Place : Fort Osage vs. North Kansas City - Saturday at 2:30 PM
Boys Third Place : Savannah vs. St. Joseph Lafayette - Saturday at 4:00 PM
Girls Championship Game : Kearney vs. St. Joseph Benton - Saturday at 5:30 PM
Boys Championship Game : Kearney vs. Fort Osage - Saturday at 7:00 PM
