Sports : South Harrison Advances Into Tournament Semifinals At Bethany

The South Harrison girls and boys basketball teams easily won quarterfinal tests on Monday night, advancing to the semifinals in the South Harrison Basketball Tournament in Bethany.

In the tournament opener, the #1 seeded South Harrison Lady Bulldogs doubled up East Harrison, 48-24, pushing the Lady Bulldogs into Thursday night's semifinals, at 7:10. The Putnam County Lady Midgets are into the semifinal round, courtesy of a 37-34 overtime victory over Plattsburg. Putnam County is the #6 seed in the tournament. The Lady Midgets move into the 4:30 semifinal on Thursday afternoon. The East Harrison girls next play on Wednesday night at 7:10, with the Plattsburg Lady Tigers playing on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30.

In boy's quarterfinal games on Monday, the South Harrison Bulldogs continued with their season re-birth, ripping apart the Plattsburg Tigers by a final score of 72-40. The Bulldogs move into the Thursday semifinal, scheduled for 5:50. Plattsburg will be in the 5:50 Wednesday consolation semifinal. The #3 seed Putnam County Midgets rolled into the semifinals, with a 69-30 win over the North Harrison Shamrocks. The Midgets will play at 8:30 on Thursday night, with the Shamrocks sliding into the 8:30 consolation semifinal on Wednesday night.

GIRLS at 4:30 PM : #2 North Harrison vs. #7 South Harrison JV
BOYS at 5:50 PM : #2 Princeton vs. #7 NE Nodaway
GIRLS at 7:10 PM : #4 NE Nodaway vs. #5 Princeton

BOYS at 8:30 PM : #1 East Harrison vs. #8 East Buchanan JV

Both Princeton vs. Northeast Nodaway games will be broadcast LIVE on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com, with Tom Johnson on the play-by-play from Bethany! Pregame will hit the air at 5:45!
