In the opener, Trenton used an 18-8 advantage in the third quarter for breathing room, and cruised to the victory in the fourth quarter, by a final score of 50-33. It is the second victory for Trenton against Gallatin this season, and improves the THS record to 11-3. Makaila Capeder and Cassidy Cotton both had 10 points, with Ally Ockenfels and Madi Trump each scoring eight for Trenton. Kailey Salmon led Gallatin with 12 points.

The win moves Trenton into the semifinals on Thursday night, and a 7:30 match-up with #2 seed North Platte, a 64-34 winner over West Platte. Gallatin, in the consolation semifinals, will meet West Platte on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30.

The Trenton boys built a double-digit lead in their game against Gallatin, but had to hold on late, with two Colton Neff free throws with six seconds remaining providing just enough breathing room, as Trenton downed Gallatin, 48-45. Chase Tolson, Cree Mullenix, and Chris Flowers all scored 11 points for Trenton, while Harris Cameron had 11 points, and Jacob Boyd 10 points for Gallatin.

The Trenton boys will play at 6 o'clock Thursday night in the Lawson Tournament semifinals, against the West Platte-Penney winner (they play Tuesday at 6:00 PM). The Gallatin boys will play the West Platte-Penney loser at 9 o'clock on Wednesday night in the consolation semifinal round. Monday night's Trenton vs. Gallatin games were broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com.

Richmond beat North Platte in a boy's quarterfinal at Lawson High School on Monday night, by a score of 63-38, moving the Spartans into a 9 o'clock semifinal on Thursday night.

BOYS at 6:00 PM : #1 West Platte vs. #8 Penney
