Milan Police Chief Maurice May says the robbery happened around 9:05 a.m. Monday at the Subway restaurant at 203 N. Pearl Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall with dreadlocks. May says the suspect was wearing a green jacket with multiple pockets. The suspect left the store on-foot, so there is no vehicle description. An undetermined amount of money was taken in the robbery.

Only one person was working at the restaurant at the time of the robbery. May says she was not physically injured, but was quite shaken by the ordeal and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

May says the worker did not see a weapon because the robber had his hand in his pocket, but the chief believes the robber was armed.

If you have information about the Monday morning robbery, you are asked to call the Milan Police Department at (660) 265-4499, or your local law enforcement agency.
