Sports : Milan Finishes 2013 Against Green City, North Shelby

The MIlan Lady Wildcats were able to jump into the win column for the first time since their season-opening win against Brashear on December 3rd, winning at rival Green City on Thursday night.

The Lady 'Cats beat the Lady Gophers by a final score of 35-27. For Green City, Alicia Albrecht had 10 points. On Friday night, returning to the friendly confines of the 'Den' to play Tri-Rivers Conference foe North Shelby, the Lady 'Cats came up on the short end of a 43-39 final. Kyley Doak had 13 points to lead Milan.

The Milan boys have been showing signs of improved play early in the season, but will go into Christmas on a losing streak, with the Wildcats falling on Thursday night at Green City by a score of 62-37. The Gopher defense held high-scoring Milan guard Holden Stallbaumer to only 13 points in the loss. Milan was beaten by the North Shelby Raiders on Friday night by a score of 61-47. Wyatt Bohle scored a career-high 19 points, with Stallbaumer adding 15 for MHS.

Milan is off until playing in the Marceline Tournament in early January. Green City will take part in Holiday Hoops at North Central Missouri College in Trenton.
