Members of the Police Department, using donated funds, took three children to the Trenton Shopko where they were purchased Christmas presents for friends, family members, and themselves. Chief Wright described it as a great opportunity for Trenton Officers to spend time with some kids who may not have had the most positive exposures to law enforcement.

The police chief explained it was an opportunity for these kids to get to know officers under different circumstances than they have typically met officers under. Chief Wright expects this will become an annual event for the Police Department and he looks forward to expanding the event to include a Christmas Party for all of Grundy County’s foster children. Anyone wishing to make donations throughout the upcoming year can do so by contacting Chief Wright or Lt. Rex Ross at the Trenton Police Department.

The Trenton Police department will host “Coffee With a Cop” on Friday morning, December 20th, from 7:30 until 9 o’clock. The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce will assist. Chief Wright said tours of the law enforcement center also will be available for chamber members and the general public on Friday morning.
