In the opener, Trenton's girls got back in the win column with a 46-24 victory over Plattsburg. Cassidy Cotton hit a trio of three-point shots as part of a 13 point night for THS, with fellow senior Makaila Capeder adding 11 points. For Plattsburg, Tori Kelley had 10 points.

The game began a tough eight-day stretch for Trenton. Here is Head Coach Brian Upton:

The Trenton boys, aiming to win their fifth game in a row, got the job done, but had to use a big fourth-quarter surge to put away a stubborn Plattsburg squad, 65-50. Chase Tolson hit 14 free throws on the night, part of a 20 point effort for the senior point guard. Wilson Utley had his best game of the season, with 16 points for the Bulldogs, while the big men got involved inside, with Chris Kurtz and Chris Flowers both scoring 10 points. For Plattsburg, Braden Price had 22 points, not enough to keep the Tigers from falling to 0-5.

Trenton Head Coach Jeremy Austin spoke about the effort the Bulldogs had in closing out the road win:

Trenton's girls and boys basketball teams are both 5-1 to start the season. On Tuesday night, THS returns home to take on the Carrollton Trojans. A JV game will be played at 5 o'clock, followed by girl's and boy's varsity games. There will be no radio broadcast of tonight's contests.

On Thursday night, Trenton travels to Gallatin for rematches with the Bulldogs. On December 7th, Trenton swept Gallatin in the championship games of the Gallatin Tournament. Thursday's games will be broadcast on Z 101.7 FM and www.kgozfm.com (online audio-streaming).

On Saturday, Trenton's teams will play on the second night of NCMC Holiday Hoops from the Ketcham Community Center. The Lady Bulldogs take on the KCI Conference Tournament champions, the Lathrop Lady Mules, at 6:30, with the Trenton boys battling Lathrop at 8 o'clock. Both games will be broadcast LIVE on Z 101.7 FM and www.kgozfm.com.

Trenton's grueling stretch of games continues into Monday, for the Lady Bulldogs, in a battle with the Lafayette Fighting Irish. That game, scheduled for an 8 o'clock tip, will be broadcast on KTTN FM 92.3 and www.kttn.com.
