Thirty-eight year old Stephanie Miller of Galt pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution. Imposition of a sentence was suspended and Judge Jack Peace put Ms. Miller on probation for five years. She is required to make restitution in monthly payments.

Charges accusing Ms. Miller with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to tamper with a vehicle, both in October, were dismissed by the prosecution.

Ms. Miller, in the hindering prosecution charge, was accused of preventing the apprehension of Timothy Ashlock in October. She was accused of telling deputy Seth Cox she had no knowledge of the whereabouts of Ashlock, who, according to authorities, was at her residence.

Ms. Miller also withdrew a prior plea and pleaded guilty to stealing 2 credit cards owned by Clarence Coursey in August of last year. Imposition of a sentence was suspended on that charge, and Ms. Miller was put on 5 years probation. She's required to pay restitution of $980 plus a $75 restitution fee.

22 year old Justin Bryan of Trenton withdrew a prior plea and pleaded guilty to non support of a child. Imposition of a sentence was suspended and Bryan was put on probation 5 years. He's required to pay current and past child support beginning February 15th.

45 year old Dewayne Glenn of St. Peters withdrew a prior plea and pleaded guilty to non support of a child. Imposition of a sentence was suspended and Glenn was put on probation 5 years. He's required to pay current and past due child support beginning in April.

31 year old Bobbie Jo Nichols of St. Joseph pleaded guilty to 2 counts of check forgery. A 4 year prison sentence was stayed---- and Ms. Nichols was put on probation 5 years.

36 year old Crystal Simon, with addresses listed at Bethany and St. Joseph, pleaded guilty to passing bad checks. Imposition of a sentence was suspended and Ms. Simon was put on probation 5 years. She's required to pay over $1900 restitution in monthly payments.

57 year old Wanda Peterie of Cowgill withdrew a prior plea and pleaded guilty to passing bad checks. Imposition of a sentence was suspended and Ms. Peterie was put on probation 5 years. She's required to make over $1200 in restitution---paid monthly.

60 year old Imogene Kindle of Harris pleaded guilty to passing bad checks. Imposition of a sentence was suspended and Ms. Kindle was put on probation 5 years. She's to make restitution of more than $1500 in monthly payments.

A jury trial for 33 year old Jeffrey Vanhoozer of Trenton is January 7th in Division 1 of Grundy County Circuit Court. Vanhoozer is charged with 2nd degree statutory rape of a girl less than 17 in September of 2001. Assistant Attorney General Scott Fox is acting as a special prosecutor for Grundy County. He filed amended charges this week.

A 1 day jury trial for 34 year old Jeremy Sharp of Laredo is March 6th on a charge accusing him with non support of 3 children. Another 1 day jury trial for Sharp also is scheduled March 6th on a charge accusing him with non support of a child.

A 1 day jury trial for Jeffrey Brown of Trenton on a charge accusing him with non support of 2 children is March 6th.

A 1 day jury trial for 33 year old Daniel Betz of Trenton had been scheduled January 10th in division 1 of Grundy County Circuit Court. However, the prosecution and
defense have agreed to have the trial set aside. Betz is to appear in Circuit Court January 16th to make a plea. He's charged with possessing a dirt bike on which the original manufacturers vehicle identification number had been destroyed---and also careless and imprudent driving—both in August of last year. Betz also is charged with 2nd degree burglary in may of this year in which he's accused of unlawfully entering a building at 1109 East 12th Street in Trenton owned by Lee Ellis for the purpose of stealing .
