News : Jameson Read Pleads Not Guilty To All Charges

A 24 year old Trenton man, Jameson Read, pleaded not guilty to charges accusing him with 1st degree murder, armed criminal action, abandonment of a corpse, 1st degree assault, and tampering with physical evidence. The charges stem from events last July.

Read is to appear again in Circuit Court at Trenton February 13th for a plea or trial setting.

Read is charged in connection with the shooting death of 52 year old John Vencill of Trenton in July at Trenton and abandonment of the corpse in Sullivan County.

A representative of the Missouri Attorney General's office is participating in the case as a special prosecutor for Grundy and Sullivan Counties.

The 1st degree assault charge accuses Read of attempting to seriously injure Tristan Vencill July 3rd in Sullivan County by hitting Vencill in the head with a hammer---causing lacerations to the scalp.
