Sports : Mercer Girls, East Harrison Boys Earn #1 Seeds At HDC Tournament

The 2013 HDC Conference Basketball Tournament will open this Saturday with two first-round games. All games in the event, running from December 14th through December 21st, will be played at Tri-County High School in Jamesport.

Both the girl's and boy's tournaments will consist of nine teams, meaning a Saturday doubleheader will be needed, with the #8 seeds playing the #9 seeds. Quarterfinals will be played on Monday and Tuesday, December 16th and 17th.

Saturday's games will be the #8 seed Newtown-Harris girls against Tri-County at 2 o'clock, and the #8 seeded Tri-County boys against Gilman City at 3:15.

Monday 12/16/13 (Quarterfinals):
(Girls) #2 Pattonsburg vs. Grundy R-5 at 5:00 PM
(Boys) #4 North Harrison vs. #5 Grundy R-5 at 6:15 PM
(Girls) #3 North Harrison vs. #6 East Harrison at 7:30 PM
(Boys) #1 East Harrison vs. First-Round Winner at 8:45 PM

Tuesday 12/17/13 (Quarterfinals):
(Boys) #2 Mercer vs. #7 Pattonsburg at 5:00 PM
(Girls) #1 Mercer vs. First-Round Winner at 6:15 PM
(Boys) #3 Winston vs. #6 Newtown-Harris at 7:30 PM
(Girls) #4 Gilman City vs. #5 Winston at 8:45 PM

Wednesday 12/18/13 (Semifinals):
Tuesday Night's Girls Losers at 5:00 PM
Tuesday Night's Boys Losers at 6:15 PM
Monday Night's Girls Winners at 7:30 PM
Monday Night's Boys Winners at 8:45 PM

Thursday 12/19/13 (Semifinals):
Monday Night's Girls Losers at 5:00 PM
Monday Night's Boys Losers at 6:15 PM
Tuesday Night's Girls Winners at 7:30 PM

Friday 12/20/13:
Girls Consolation Final at 5:00 PM

Girls 3rd Place Game at 8:00 PM

Saturday 12/21/13:
Boys 3rd Place Game at 5:00 PM
Girls Championship Game at 6:30 PM
Boys Championship Game at 8:00 PM
