Here are comments provided by Head Coach Charlie Bacon:

"The South Harrison dual had quite a few opens, which always takes away from the excitement, but I was really proud of some of our younger kids who got some of their first varsity wins. Sophomore Colby Weaver was in a very close match whenever he took his opponent down in the 2nd period and got the pin win the team really needed it. Freshman Drew Rorebeck also showed up in a big way tonight at 126, looking dominant on his feet and on the mat he eventually got a big pin in front of the home crowd. Trey Shields also performed well getting a pin in the second period to help bring the team to victory."

"Gallatin had a team very comparable to ours this year. They had a lot of young kids and a few kids with quite a bit of experience. At 113, Freshman and first time wrestler Brendon Johnson lost a tough match to his opponent in a match that seemed like it could go either way. I couldn't be happier with the progress that Brendon has made in a short amount of time, and the effort he always puts forth. Drew Rorebeck also had a dominant win, with a technical fall over his opponent. Some of our more experienced kids like Dalton Ellis, Wynne Devorrs, Mason Mounce, and Terrin Ellis got some big wins for us tonight, but we still came up short. It was an exciting dual that came down to the last couple of matches. It is early in the season, and if the amount of improvement I've seen in the last week will continue throughout the season, we are going to be a solid team. We just need to continue to practice hard and get better."
