On Friday night, in a game broadcast on Z 101.7 FM, the Lady Pirates struggled, particularly in the second half, in falling to the Barton Community College Cougars, 85-67. Cheyenne Hedrington led Barton with 23 points, with Phikala Anthony scoring 14, and Taylor Mays 10.

Kayla Oetterer led NCMC with 17 points and 10 rebounds, with sophomore Samone Redditt adding 14 points. Princeton native Nancy Berwanger added 12 points and three assists off the bench and Sydnee Rounkles and Lexi Hope both had nine points.

The Lady Pirates lost to Marshalltown Community College on Saturday 85-67. Oetterer sat out the game with a hip injury, limiting North Central's options inside the paint.

Megan O’Dell led NCMC with 15 points and Redditt adding a dozen. Freshman Brooke Parton helped out with 11 points for the short-handed Lady Pirates.

With the two-game weekend setbacks, the Lady Pirates fell to 4-7 overall on the season. The Lady Pirates will be back in action on Friday, taking on Miami-Dade Community College in Miami, Florida. On Saturday, North Central will battle Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
