Sports : Trenton Girls Cruise To Quarterfinal Win Over Tri-County

The top-seeded Trenton Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 25-2 lead after one quarter and never looked back, beating Tri-County 77-10 on Tuesday night in the quarterfinal round of the Gallatin Basketball Tournament.

Makaila Capeder led Trenton with 18 points, with McKinley Hurley scoring 13, Cassidy Cotton 12, and Ally Ockenfels 10 points. Tri-County had nine points from Leeza Siddoway. The win advances THS into the semifinal round, and a match-up with Braymer at 7 o'clock Thursday night (to be carried live on KGOZ FM 101.7).

The Gallatin Lady Bulldogs beat Newtown-Harris by a score of 59-21 on Tuesday night. Kailey Salmon and Kaitlyn Hefley both scored 14 points for Gallatin, with Sara Lin adding 12. Gallatin will play Maysville in a 4:30 semifinal on Thursday afternoon.

Monday's girls quarterfinal results were:
Braymer 56, Winston 41
Maysville 60, Gilman City 48

The Braymer boys downed Newtown-Harris on Tuesday night, 59-43 while Winston dropped Maysville, 62-45. Monday's boys finals were Trenton over Gilman City 84-21 and Gallatin over Tri-County 71-27. Trenton will play Winston in a Thursday night semifinal at 8:15, on KGOZ FM 101.7. Gallatin plays Braymer in the 5:45 semifinal.

Winston 53, Tri-County 16
