Sports : Grundy R-5 Splits HDC Doubleheader With North Harrison

The North Harrison girls and Grundy R-5 boys claimed victories on Tuesday night, in HDC Conference basketball action from Galt.

In the opener, Grundy R-5 played well, but not well enough to get the win, falling by a score of 48-39. The Lady Panthers, now 0-2 on the young season, were led by Elizabeth Novak with 18 points. The Lady Shamrocks had 15 points from Haley Craig. North Harrison, after a season-opening win over Princeton, is 2-0, with Grundy R-5 on the opposite end of the spectrum at 0-2. The Lady Panthers lost their season opener by single digits to Linn County on November 26th.

The Grundy R-5 boys opened conference play with a decisive victory against the visiting Shamrocks, 54-36. Cade Mullenix and Clayton Radcliff both scored 13 points for the Panthers, with Mason Larson adding 12. Reed Hallock had 12 points for North Harrison.
