Sports : #1 Seeded Scotland County Tigers Win Novinger Quarterfinals

The Scotland County girls and boys basketball teams picked up quarterfinal round victories on Monday night from the Novinger Basketball Tournament.

The Scotland County girls disposed of Bevier by a final score of 47-19, with the boys beating Brashear 69-21.

Other quarterfinal results from Novinger on Monday night were: Bevier boys 65, Atlanta 49, and Green City girls 25, LaPlata 19.

In the girls bracket, Scotland County and Green City have advanced in a Wednesday night semifinal (at 7:00), with Bevier and LaPlata dropping to a consolation semifinal (Wednesday at 4:00).

In the boy's tournament, Scotland County and Bevier will play in a semifinal (Wednesday at 5:30), with Brashear and Atlanta playing in a consolation semifinal (Wednesday night at 8:30).

Tonight (Tuesday night) from Novinger High School, Dennis Stephenson will bring you the season debuts for the Milan basketball teams, with the #2 seeded Lady 'Cats playing Brashear at 4 o'clock, and the #7 seeded Milan boys battling LaPlata at 5:30. Both games can be heard on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com!

The late session from Novinger tonight will have the #3 seeded Atlanta girls playing Novinger at 7 o'clock, followed by the #3 seed Novinger boys playing arch-rival Green City at 8:30.
