Mercer County Extension is offering information about the new health care law that an organizer says is designed to help families, individuals and businesses understand their options and responsibilities.
An informational program is scheduled next week in Princeton. On Thursday, December 12th, University Extension will host a program beginning at 6:30 that night in the Hal England building at 801 Hickland in Princeton. The event is part of MU Extension’s Health Insurance Education Initiative designed to inform citizens on what the new law means for their families, businesses and the community.
A new website, extension.missouri.edu/insure, provides educational materials and links to information. There’s a map of Missouri educators who provide local workshops and a calendar where you can learn about upcoming events near you.
The website is considered a one-stop source for factual, unbiased information about the changes in health insurance that are required by the new law.
MU Extension’s Health Insurance Education Initiative website also provides resources for the state’s small businesses, including information about tax credits for offering insurance to employees and explanations of rules that might affect their bottom line.
