Sports : THS Junior Varsity Teams Sweep Cameron

The Trenton High School junior varsity basketball teams opened their seasons with a pair of victories on Monday night, sweeping the Cameron Dragons on the road.

The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, only to see the Dragons close into the advantage by the middle stages of the third quarter. THS turned momentum with its pressure defense, extending the advantage to eight points. Trenton won by a score of 26-16.

Whitley Richman led the way with 13 points and 13 rebounds, with Tenna Roberts scoring eight points (with four rebounds), and Jaylen Neff four points.

The Trenton JV boys fought off a hard challenge from Cameron to win by a score of 48-42. Kail McCarter had 14 points, two steals, and an assist for Trenton, with Spencer Harris scoring 10 points and Connor Cotton eight.

The Trenton Middle School "A" girls basketball team hosted Chililcothe on Monday night and beat the Hornets by a final score of 39-28. Ainsley Tolson had 15 points, Mykah Hurley 13, Salem Croy 5, Ashton Whitaker 4, and Taylor Richman two points for Trenton. Chillicothe's girls won the "B" middle school game at Trenton by a score of 34-4.

The Trenton Middle School "A" boys team lost to Chillicothe by a score of 49-18. Lathan Croy led Trenton with six points. Jarren King and Kade Ockenfels each had four.
