Sports : NCMC Basketball Teams Struggle Over the Weekend

The North Central Missouri College men traveled to Galesburg, Illinois for two games over the weekend, but lost both contests in the Carl Sandburg Classic, falling to 4-5 on the season.

On Friday night, the Pirates played well, but came up short in an overtime thriller against the host Carl Sandburg Chargers, by a final score of 92-89. The Pirates came back on Saturday against Black Hawk West of Moline, Illinois, but came up on the short end of an 82-67 final score. The North Central men, having lost three games in a row, look to regroup with a multiple day break in the schedule. The Pirates will play host to Johnson County (Kansas) Community College at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, December 4th in their next game.

The Lady Pirates, coming off a 55-53 win at Southwestern (Iowa) Community College, faced a tough challenge on the road Saturday, falling to the Moberly Greyhounds by a final score of 73-55. The loss drops NCMC's mark to 4-3. The Lady Pirates travel to Marshalltown (Iowa) Community College tonight (Tuesday night) to take on the host Tigers at 5 o'clock.
