News : Santa To Arrive In Princeton Saturday Morning

Princeton's bandstand has been decorated by the Chamber of Commerce and Christmas lights will be lit for Santa’s visit on Saturday, November 23rd.

The Princeton Chamber also is asking businesses to decorate the light pole nearest their business. Garland and bows are provided by the Chamber and may be picked up at the Famous.

Santa will arrive in Princeton by fire truck Saturday morning.

At 10 o’clock at the senior center, photos will be taken of the children with Santa. Parents may pick up pictures at Big G Foodland. Organizers are asking for toys for the firemen’s toy drive. The Princeton Chamber will provide Refreshments including donut holes and hot chocolate. There will be a toy chest for the children to pick out a toy.

Princeton High School Band and Choir will play and sing. Vendors also will be set up. Gifts priced under five dollars will be available for children to buy for their friends and family members. Santa’s elves will help the children and wrap the gifts. Grundy Electric is to be contacted to determine interest in a Christmas lighting contest.

Reports at Princeton chamber of commerce meeting included 26 tractors at plow days west of Princeton along with many spectators. Lunch was provided by Rhonda Watkins. Members voted for Kid Power to handle the kids pedal pull again for Calamity Jane Days next year. An early commitment from sponsors as their names to be put on the
Trophies. Princeton chamber of commerce officers were elected. Donna Herdrich is the President; Kelly Bertrand, the vice president; Brad Funk treasurer; and Judy Woodward, secretary. Rhonda Watkins is the Tractor Cruise Facilatator.

Princeton chamber members also talked about a chili cook-off event, next year, along
with music or a dance. The annual meeting also was discussed but no plans were made.
