The event will take place on Friday night, November22 at 6pm. Santa and some of his friends will be on hand as a Chillicothe RII student turns the lights on for the holiday season at the beautiful Christmas display at the Jenkins Townhouse on Cherry Street just west of Hy-Vee in Chillicothe. This event will also serve as the kickoff for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive.

The program will begin with emcee Mayor Chuck Haney welcoming the crowd. The Central School Stingers, under the direction of Music Teacher Dan Venner, will perform a number of holiday songs for the crowd. Santa will arrive with some of his friends and with the help of a Chillicothe RII student the lights will be turned on for the first time.

Attendees of the program are encouraged to stay after the lighting ceremony and walk through the Jenkins display and visit with Santa. The Jenkins display will be open to visitors throughout the holidays. Chillicothe Hy-Vee will again provide hot chocolate for the event.

The Chillicothe Rotary Club is organizing this year’s event with assistance from the Salvation Army.
