News : Cameron Police Respond To "Shots Fired" Call

Thursday afternoon at 1:03 p.m, Cameron officers responded to a 9-1-1 report of possible shots fired between vehicles in the area of I-35 and US Highway 36.

Upon arrival to the area, officers made contact with the victim who stated there had been an altercation with another driver which resulted in a window in the victim’s vehicle being broken. No one was injured.

Officers were able to locate a suspect, 23 year old Cody Gormley, from Cameron who was arrested for Assault and Careless & Reckless Driving. Cameron Police recognized officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office who responded and assisted in the investigation.

Cameron Police have been working various burglaries of local businesses that occurred between the dates of October 21st and November 5th. The burglaries are believed to have occurred during the evening or overnight hours while the businesses were closed. Various items were taken from these businesses such as electronic equipment, musical instruments, welding equipment and cash.

Interested persons can also contact the TIPS Hotline at (816)632-TIPS (8477) and can remain anonymous if desired. A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible.
