The South Harrison Bulldogs, in the first two weeks of the season, lost a pair of tough-fought games, 6-0 to Penney High School and 38-32 to East Buchanan High School. The Bulldogs, over the next week, could very well have the opportunity to avenge both defeats.

On Thursday night, South Harrison rumbled past an injury-riddled Gallatin Bulldog squad, winning by a score of 32-0, while the #2 seeded East Buchanan Bulldogs whipped Albany, by a final score of 68-12. South Harrison will play at East Buchanan on Wednesday night, with the kickoff in Gower scheduled for 7 o'clock.

On the other side of the Class 1, District 8 bracket, the Penney Hornets, who ralled for the final three weeks of the regular season to grab the #1 seed, dismantled King City by a final score of 61-14. The #5 seed Polo Panthers earned payback for a regular season loss to Maysville, traveling to Cemetery Bowl at beating the Wolverines, 40-22. Hamilton will host Polo on Wednesday night at 7 o'clock, in a Highway 13 "rivalry" district semifinal game.

In Class 1, District 7, it was Wellington-Napoleon (4 seed) over Wentworth Military Academy 46-14, while #2 seed Lone Jack ripped up Orrick, 43-0. The #3 seeded West Platte Blue Jays ran past North Platte, 39-6.

Class 1, District 7 semifinals, on Wednesday night at 7 o'clock, will be Wellington-Napoleon at Mid-Buchanan and West Platte at Lone Jack. The #1 seeded Mid-Buchanan Dragons had a first-round bye.

In Class 1, District 5, Westran beat North Shelby 49-0, Paris downed Louisiana 32-27, South Shelby took care of Schuyler County 49-14, and Knox County went overtime to knock off rival Scotland County, 12-9.

Semifinals, on Wednesday at 7 PM, will be Paris at Westran, and Knox County at South Shelby.
