Some late summer defections from the Lady Pirates program leaves the roster thin, but talented for the 2013-2014 season, with just nine players suiting up for opening night, including former Princeton High School standout Nancy Berwanger and former Plattsburg High School shooting guard Jackie Graham.

Head Coach Jenni Croy says a season opener, on the road, against Jayhawk Conference competition, is a fore-bearer for the level of competition NCMC will face over the next four months:

Coach Croy has found a high-scoring guard from southern Missouri, expected to help from the perimeter immediately:

The North Central men open their season on Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, hosting Carl Sandburg College (Illinois) at the Ketcham Community Center. That game, with pregame at 3:40, will be broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7 and www.kgozfm.com, with Tom Johnson on the play-by-play call!
