Sports : Cameron's Final Four Dream Dies, 4-3 At Harrisonville

The Cameron Lady Dragons, playing in the Class 3 softball state quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon at Harrisonville, came up one run short in a 4-3 defeat, ending Cameron's season with a record of 19-6.

The game between the Class 3 powers was scoreless through five innings, before Cameron's Olivia Nelson hit an RBI single in the sixth, for the 1-0 lead. Harrisonville tied the game at 1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, setting the stage for a dramatic seventh.

In the top of the seventh inning, Cameron's Maizey Hughes gave the Dragons a 3-1 lead, courtesy of a two-run double. Down by two, in the bottom of the seventh, Harrisonville rallied for three runs, and the win.
