Blake Riley proved to be the unstoppable force for Kirksville, running for 243 yards and five touchdowns, on only 16 carries. Riley opened the scoring with runs of 15 and 19 yards in the first quarter, and extended the Tigers advantage with a 60 yard jaunt in the second quarter. Makenna Cook hit Nathan Farnsworth with a 24 yard scoring pass later on in the second quarter. The half ended in nightmare fashion for Trenton, as the Bulldogs, facing 4th-and-goal from the 1 yard line, fumbled the football at the first half horn, with Farnsworth returning the ball 99 yards, The halftime score was Kirksville 34, Trenton 0.

The second half was much better for the Bulldogs, who managed a 34 yard touchdown run from Colton Neff late in the third quarter to get on the scoreboard, and a 23 yard run from quarterback Dalton Ellis late in the fourth quarter. Both teams scored 14 second half points.

Colton Neff finished with 29 carries for 120 yards for Trenton, with Ellis contributing 11 carries for 83 yards. Both the Tigers and the Bulldogs are 4-4 on the season, although Kirksville is rolling, with a three-game winning streak heading into this Friday night's game at Fulton. The Bulldogs return home for the "Senior Night" game at C.F. Russell Stadium against the Concordia Orioles. The 7 o'clock kickoff (with pregame at 5:30) will be broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7. Trenton, on the strength of 20 bonus points for playing a Class 4 school, remains in FOURTH place in the Class 2, District 8 standings (Brookfield is fifth). Trenton may very well need a win over Concordia to SECURE home-field advantage against Brookfield for the first round of district play on Friday, November 1st.
