Sports : "Meet The Pirates" Scheduled For Thursday, October 24th

North Central Missouri College will host their annual "Meet the Pirates Night" on Thursday, October 24th to introduce this year's men's and women's athletic teams. Both basketball teams will scrimmage and members of the baseball team will be offered in a service auction.

Activities will begin at 6 PM at the Ketcham Community Center, with free admission. The Lady Pirates basketball team will scrimmage at approximately 6:20 PM. Two ten-minute running-clock halves will be played, with the Pirate men scrimmaging at 7:30 in the same format. There will also be a three-point shooting contest pitting the basketball teams, baseball team, and softball team players against one another.

At various breaks during the evening, all members of each team will be introduced and the baseball players will be auctioned off for their annual service fundraiser. Professional auctioneers Bill Brinser and Junior Mullenix of Trenton will auction the young men, who will then be asked to perform various jobs of the purchaser's choice.

The season opener for the Lady Pirates will be Friday, November 1st (at Kansas City Kansas Community College). The HOME opener for the Pirate men will be Saturday, November 2nd (against Carl Sandburg) at 4 o'clock. The first home doubleheader will be Wednesday, November 6th, with the Lady Pirates hosting the Graceland JV at 5:30, with the Pirates hosting the Culver-Stockton JV at 7:30.
