Sports : Trenton Bulldog Volleyball Sweeps Plattsburg In Three-Set Thrillers

The Trenton varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams both went three sets before disposing of the visiting Plattsburg Lady Tigers, in action on Monday night from the THS Gymnasium.

Behind superb all-around play from freshman Alex Ewald, the Trenton varsity won a thrilling third set over Plattsburg by just two points, winning the match by a final score of 25-22, 18-25, 27-25. Ewald had 25 digs,eight assists, and five digs for THS, while senior Courtney Weyer was big at the net, with seven kills. It is Trenton's SECOND victory over Plattsburg in the past nine days, with THS beating the Lady Tigers in pool play at the Lathrop Tournament on September 21st.

The Trenton JV had an up-and-down match with Plattsburg end on a high, with the Lady Bulldogs coming out on top in a 25-15, 8-25, 25-18 final score. Freshman Lyric Nolan led the JV with 13 aces, five kills, and three digs. Morganne Farmer had three digs and three assists.

The Trenton volleyball teams travel to East Buchanan tonight (Tuesday night) to play at the school in Gower at 5 o'clock. The Lady Bulldogs host Chillicothe on Monday and Lathrop on Tuesday OF NEXT WEEK.
