Yost just completed his fourth season in Kansas City with a 86-76 record, five games short of a postseason berth, but the most victories for the Royals since the 1989 squad went 92-70.

This year's team won 42 games AFTER the All-Star Break, representing the highest number in the American League, and the Royals 14 game improvement over 2012 was the third-best in baseball.

In ten seasons as a big league manager, Yost is 741-831. His 741 career wins rank him 81st all-time and 12th among active managers in the Major Leagues.
