After battling for 14 innings last year in a regular season game won by Cameron, Trenton and the Lady Dragons decided to play some free softball again on Thursday night at Johnson Field.

Both teams were held scoreless through the first 3 innings with a Madi Trump single being Trenton's only base runner.  In the bottom of the 4th McKinley Hurley led off with a single and scored on a 2 out triple by Cassidy Cotton to make the score 1-0.  Cameron would come back with an unearned run in the top of the 5th to tie the score at 1.

Both pitchers would settle in for the next 5 innings with Mallory Hooyman working out of a jam in the top of the 10th inning.  With runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs, Hooyman forced a pop up to Megan Lynch for the first out of the inning followed by a double play with Madi Trump forcing the batter at first and then firing to Capeder at third in time to get the runner, Trenton's second double play of the game.

In the winning rally, Trenton was able to capitalize on three Cameron errors in the bottom of the 11th inning.  Whitley Richman reached on an error and would advance to 2nd on the play.  Tosha Wilson then advanced Richman to third on an infield single.  Hurley would reach on a fielder's choice when Richman was thrown out at home on a Hurley ground ball.  Madi Trump reached on an error to load the bases with 2 outs for Capeder. Capeder would hit a ball off the third baseman that was picked up by the short stop, but the throw to first was too late, scoring Tosha Wilson with the winning run.

Trump finished with 2 hits, Hurley, Wilson and Cotton with 1 each.  Mallory Hooyman went the distance for the Lady Bulldogs, going 11 innings, allowing just 4 hits and 8 walks (5 intentional), no earned runs and 5 strike outs.

Trenton Head Coach John Cowling said of the win, "We've struggled at times this week but the girls played their best game of the season tonight.  Our defense stepped up when it needed to and I can't say enough about the game that Mallory threw tonight.  She held a power hitting team to 1 run and made every pitch she needed to."

Trenton is now 11-3 on the season.
